Briefly describe the press and its working principle

The press (including punches and Hydraulic shop press) is a universal press with exquisite structure. It has a wide range of uses and high production efficiency. The press can be widely used in cutting, punching, blanking, bending, riveting and forming processes. By applying strong pressure to the metal blank, the metal is plastically deformed and fractured to be processed into parts. When the mechanical press is working, the electric motor drives the large pulley (usually doubles as a flywheel) through the V-belt, and drives the crank slider mechanism through the gear pair and the clutch to make the slider and the punch go straight down. After the mechanical press is completed, the slider travels upward, the clutch is automatically disengaged, and the automatic on the crankshaft is turned on to stop the slider near the top dead center.

The working mechanism of the press is driven by a motor through a transmission mechanism to apply process force to the workpiece. The transmission mechanism is a reduction mechanism of belt transmission and gear transmission; the working mechanism is divided into a screw mechanism, a crank connecting rod mechanism and a hydraulic cylinder.Presses are divided into three categories: screw presses, crank presses and hydraulic presses. Crank presses are also called mechanical presses.

The screw press has no fixed bottom dead center, and for larger die forgings, it can be formed by multiple blows, and can be used for singles, continuous blows and inch movements. The impact force is related to the deformation of the workpiece. When the deformation is large, the impact force is small, and when the deformation is small (such as cold strike), the impact force is large. In these respects, it is similar to a forging hammer. But its striking force is enclosed by the frame, so it works smoothly, and its vibration is much smaller than that of a forging hammer, and it does not require a large foundation.

The lower part of the press is equipped with forging ejection devices. The screw press has the functions of die forging hammers, mechanical presses and other forging machines. It has strong versatility and can be used for die forging, blanking, drawing and other processes. In addition, the screw press is simple in structure and easy to manufacture, so it is widely used.
